How, by when and for how much can you apply?

What are the conditions for admission to individual faculties?

Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies FBERG

  • There are no entrance exams.
  • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades.
  • You can get additional points for your participation in knowledge contests.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 650.

Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling

  • There are no entrance exams.
  • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 680.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

  • There are no entrance exams.
  • If you want to study here, the condition is a proper completion of high school.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 650.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics

  • There are no entrance exams.
  • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades for the last 3 years together with your maths exam results on your high school diploma.
  • You can get additional points according to the type of high school you studied at, as well as for your participation in knowledge contests.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 870.

Faculty of Civil Engineering

  • There are no entrance exams.
  • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades together with the average of maths grades.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 185.

Faculty of Economics

  • Entrance exams are held in mathematics and will take place on 9 June 2021.
  • In addition to the results of the entrance exams, we will take into consideration your overall average of high school grades together with your maths exam results on your high school diploma.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 360.

Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies

  • There are no entrance exams at the faculty.
  • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades together with the exam results on your high school diploma.
  • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 360.

Faculty of Arts

  • The entrance aptitude examinations at the Faculty of Arts were held at the end of January and beginning of February 2022, and based on their results, applicants were admitted for studies in academic year 2022/2023. 
  • Admission procedure results. 
  • The deadline for submission of applications for academic year 2023/2024 is November 30, 2022. 
  • The number of freshman students planned to be admitted in academic year 2022/2023 is 55. 

    Faculty of Aeronautics

    • There are no entrance exams at the faculty.
    • If you want to study here, we will take into consideration only your overall average of high school grades together with your maths exam results on your high school diploma.
    • You can get additional points according to the type of high school you studied at, as well as for your participation in knowledge contests.
    • A specific condition for admission is a special aviation medical certificate.
    • The maximum number of admitted first-year students in the academic year 2021/2022 is 300.

    What accommodation and catering options does TUKE provide?

    Catering for TUKE students is provided by 3 student canteens where you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner all week long. There are also six bistros, Libresso – café and confectionery services with refreshments, Bar V club – cultural and social centre and a sandwich bar. You can find these facilities directly on the TUKE campus or in university dormitories. In addition, on the university campus there are several snack bars with refreshments at reasonable pricesy.

    In terms of accommodation, TUKE can accommodate almost 4,500 students in its five dormitories. The premises with the largest capacity can be found at Jedlíkova Street, which with its 3,000 inhabitants has the character of small-town district. In addition to sleeping, you can also eat there, do sports, have fun and enjoy cultural events. Across the street there is the largest shopping centre in Košice, so you also have a cinema and all kinds of shops at your fingertips. The other two smaller dormitories are in the broader city centre directly on the TUKE campus, and this is also their biggest advantage. The university is only a few meters away and you can get to the centre on foot in a few minutes. There are also two student dormitories in Prešov.     How can I get involved in studying abroad at TUKE?

    Each of the faculties provides opportunities to complete part of the study outside Slovakia. Cooperation with partner universities, student organizations and exchange programs is extremely intensive and popular at TUKE.

    What does extracurricular student life at TUKE look like?

    Well, this is a big topic. Where to start? Let’s start with sports. TUKE manages an athletic stadium, 8 gyms, baseball field, squash and tennis courts; the university also offers football, basketball, floorball, water polo, softball, and if you prefer individual challenges, there is also athletics, yoga, artificial wall climbing, or even yachting, and there are two sports clubs at TUKE: Akademik and Slávia.

    It terms of cultural activities, the Collegium Technicum choir as well as folklore ensembles Jahodná and Borievka have been active at TUKE for years, and even the University Symphony Orchestra is being developed here. We publish the university magazine HALÓ TU and you can also tune in to the student Radio 9 or TV.
